Appointment
And Fees
Appointments
Typically I can find room in my schedule within 1-2 weeks of a prospective
client’s
call. Critical issues can be squeezed in within 48 Hrs My office hours are 9:00
a.m. until 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and until 5:00PM on Saturdays. A session
typically lasts for 50 minutes, which includes time spent paying fees, setting
up future appointments, etc.
Extended sessions can be arranged, and may sometimes make more sense if someone
travels some distance to see me. Sessions can be arranged on a weekly, biweekly,
or monthly basis, or as needed.
The first few sessions will involve an evaluation of your needs, into which we
will both offer input, after which I will offer you some initial impressions
of how I view your concerns and what our work might include, if we decide that
we are a good match, and want to continue working together.
Fees
Fees are payable at the beginning of each session. You may pay in advance for
a number of sessions, but may not miss payments unless this is specifically arranged
ahead of time. My fee is $110 for a 50-minute session. It is my practice to charge
this amount on a prorated basis for shorter or longer sessions, and for any other
professional service you may require outside of our sessions, such as report
or letter writing, telephone conversations with you, or consultations you request
with others, that last longer than 10 minutes, or preparation of records or treatment
summaries.
Usually, health insurance policies provide some coverage for mental health treatment.
I am happy to provide a statement for you to submit to your insurance company
so that, if they cover therapy at all, you can be reimbursed for part of my fee.
Insurance companies require a diagnosis in order to reimburse, and this can be
one related to your gender issues, or, if you prefer, one related to any anxiety
or depression you experience.
