About Me
Over the past 20 years I have had the good fortune of working in a field that I really love. Every day I look forward to going to work. It is a privilege to be able to make a difference in someone's life, to help them make their life just a little bit better.

I started college as a business major but soon realized that my passion was for working with people and not numbers. I was drawn to the field of psychology and social work.
While working on my degree in psychology I went to work as a counselor in a group home for adolescents. I helped these kids deal with self esteem issues, stress and depression, physical, mental and sexual abuse and other emotional issues. My daily interactions with these adolescents fostered in me a desire to do more. I went on to bringing into my home several foster kids many of whom still are a part of my life.
Specializing in Stress Treatment, Depression, Gender Identity and Couples Therapy
Stress
We all have stress sometimes. For some people, it happens before having to speak in public. For other people, it might be before a first date. What causes stress for you may not be stressful for someone else. Sometimes stress is helpful – it can encourage you to meet a deadline or get things done.
Individual Therapy
Individual therapy is many things to many different people. It is a chance to explore issues within the privacy of a therapeutic session. Individual therapy provides a safe and comfortable space to discuss relationship issues, work issues, childhood issues or a place to grow and change.
Depression
Depression is a serious medical illness; it’s not something that you have made up in your head. It’s more than just feeling "down in the dumps" or "blue" for a few days. It’s feeling "down" and "low" and "hopeless" for weeks at a time.
Relationships
We all crave intimacy, the need to love and be loved. Being in a relationship whether as partners, married or lovers can be a wonderful experience but can also be extremely stressful at times.
